We are currently seeking an exceptional Research Associate to join our islet isolation and research teams. You will be involved in human and animal islet isolation and culture, as well as participate in our R&D programs in islet biology and diabetes.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated self starter with exceptional work ethics that can design and execute experiments, both independently and as part of our research teams. If you are ready to go the extra distance to make a difference we would like to hear from you.

Responsibilities include:
• Isolation and culture of human and animal pancreatic islets
• Preparation and maintenance of various cell lines and primary cells
• Design and execution of experiments and studies
• Qualitative and quantitative testing of islets and other cells
• Collection and evaluation of histology and sterility samples
• Providing product support
• Staying current on relevant scientific literature and technologies
• Compilation of data, generation of reports and presentation of results.
• Other duties as assigned.

The position requires a BS degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Immunology. Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills are necessary, as well as the desire to be a team player.

Candidates need extensive experience in tissue and primary cell culture and strong sterile technique, as well as excellent laboratory skills in the areas of cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry and general lab methods. Knowledge of islet biology, diabetes or stem cells is preferred.
